The project of verification, consolidation and transformation into a database format of digital maps of the scale 1:2000 for the territory of the Czech Republic
The TVIS company completed the project of verification, consolidation and transformation into a database format of digital maps of the scale 1:2000 for the territory of the Czech Republic. The project lasted 10 months. We verified 167 cities and villages with a total area of 19,391.70 hectares.
The goal of the project is the consolidation and audit of the vector for the presence and correctness of the localization of objects according to aerial photography in order to detect errors, systematic displacement and inaccuracies in the metadata.
The update revealed many non-existent objects, including new construction and road reconstruction. All objects that clearly changed and did not correspond to the situation were archived and described: demolished houses, new roads, fences, sidewalks, additional terrain, vegetation, lakes, rivers, etc. The work was carried out in the software product MicroStation.
Existing digital maps on a scale of 1:2000 from three different departments in the format of MicroStation *.DGN drawings, as well as orthophoto plans, were used as initial data.
Vector maps were updated with the aim of bringing their content into line with the current state of the area and creating a geodatabase from CAD drawings. The following segments were subject to verification: houses and their centroids, fences, road network and road structures, additional relief, vegetation cover, switchboards on poles, supports or walls of technical buildings, signatures of objects. The updated vector maps will become the basis for filling the base of topographical information of the Czech Republic.
