BlackSky Gen-2

Gen-2 satellites (85 cm class) are lightweight spacecraft equipped with the SpaceView-24 optical system. They provide panchromatic images with a resolution of 80–110 cm and multispectral (RGB) images with a resolution of 3.2 m. Their orbits are sun-synchronous and mid-inclination (~430–500 km), ensuring frequent revisit capability. The products feature geolocation accuracy of up to 20 m CE90 and are used for security and crisis tasks in operational monitoring of cities, infrastructure, agriculture, and forestry.

Briefly about the main

BlackSky Gen-2 is a generation of small Earth observation satellites developed by BlackSky Global, designed for rapid data collection and frequent revisit of areas. The satellites are equipped with a compact SpaceView-24 camera with a 24 cm aperture, which enables the acquisition of high-quality images with a spatial resolution of less than 1 meter. Thanks to their low mass (approximately 56 kg) and deployment in constellations across various orbits (sun-synchronous and mid-inclination), BlackSky Gen-2 provides flexible global coverage and near real-time event monitoring. The combination of panchromatic and multispectral channels allows the data to be used for urban monitoring, agriculture and forestry, as well as for emergency assessment and security-related tasks.
