SPOT-6 and SPOT-7 continue the line of Earth observation satellites under the SPOT program for guaranteed continuity of high-resolution data for years to come. Based on the agreement signed on December 2, 2014 between Azerkosmos (Azerbaijan) and Airbus Defense and Space, the SPOT-7 satellite was transferred to the control of Azerbaijan in May 2015 and was named AzerSky.

Briefly about the main thing

After the launch of the SPOT-6 and SPOT-7 satellites, the satellites formed a single group together with the Pleiades-1A, 1B spacecraft, and their work is planned centrally. It is assumed that this will implement more accurate algorithms for accounting for clouds and atmospheric phenomena when planning a new acquisition.
